“This is a long shot, but my fiancee (American) and I (Australian) are getting married down under in March…”
You don’t know how much I love getting messages like this and replying, “WE’RE SO IN. Not a long shot at all!”
After months of Skyping + e-mailing, we met Syd + Alex when we landed in Australia a few days before their wedding. We felt like we already knew them, so it was great to hug them in real life! Our first outing together was catching a ferry to a beach in Sydney, and the rest of the week followed suit in the form of awesomeness.
We love the vision these two had for their wedding. They didn’t wish to shoot in the typical touristy spots of Sydney, which was actually so nice! It gave us free reign to explore the city and find the settings that fit them uniquely as a couple. Alex’s great great great great great-grandfather was the first pastor in the church they were married, which gave an extra special feel to the day as they were surrounded by people they loved from all over the world.
I’m in ACTUAL LOVE with their venue. Instead of a sit-down dinner, these savvy Aussies had a canapé-style reception where their friends were free to mingle throughout the night. It was the perfect vibe in the perfect setting.
Syd + Alex, thanks for trusting us to document this huge day in your life. We enjoyed every smile, every tear, and we totally adore you two. Also, I could listen to you Aussies talk allllll day long!
