Guys, there’s this tradition in Ohio called The Wedding Cookie Table…and it needs to happen at every wedding. The week before the wedding, family + friends drop off homemade cookies, bars, etc. Hand to heaven, there were 1,200 COOKIES at Halley + AJ’s wedding. TWELVE HUNDRED. Pure bliss.
Moving along…
Backyard weddings absolutely have my heart. The mingling of old memories and a new chapter in life feels…sacred. Halley + AJ hosted their wedding in the magical place she spent her childhood. I didn’t know I would describe Ohio as magical (I had never been), but it swept me off my feet. Halley’s dad, Bob (shout out!), did ALL THE THINGS, including build Halley the altar of her dreams in their backyard. Bob, you’re a wizard.
AJ was a groomsman in a wedding we photographed in Vegas and we were SO pumped to see him again AND meet Halley the night before the wedding. Her carefree but articulate personality made everything a joy. The two of them together makes my heart feel all squishy and happy. Every second with them and all their wonderful people was delightful.
